Philanthropy
Being a part of Theta allows you to expand your horizons in community involvement. Having the chance to contribute toward a good cause is one of the best parts of being in a sorority. Our own philanthropy contributes to CASA, court-appointed special advocates. We have events such as Capture the Kite, Smoothie Fundraisers, a food trucks day in order to raise money. This money is donated to the children of CASA. They are children who are going through a legal process in court, who need a voice.
Sisterhood
Theta teaches us the importance of aspiring to achieve something higher. Our sisterhood is loyal and loving. Theta gives us challenges, opportunities, and dear friends. It supports learning and services. Theta’s sisterhood bonds are so strong. There are big, little photos where you match your family. There are photos of sisters traveling the world together for abroad or for a fun vacation. These girls will be there for you through thick and thin. Theta greatly broadens our world.
Involvement
Besides our own philanthropy, Theta encourages us to be a part of other fraternity’s philanthropies, such as Beta’s Bring it on and other sorority’s philanthropies, such as DG’s Anchor splash. Every week there are new events. Being involved with other philanthropies is exciting because you are contributing to other causes such as Leukemia, Alzheimer’s disease, cancer and more. Theta also encourages every sister to be involved with Dance Marathon which is the biggest event at UF. Students dance for over 26 hours and every hour money is being donated for the kids of Shand’s hospital. If it wasn’t for Theta, the access to these events would not be as easy.
